We are witnessing the formation of a global religious system—precisely what Scripture warned would come. This is not a neutral development, nor is it a mere matter of shifting religious alliances. The Bible is clear: this system is Satanically inspired, a counterfeit that masquerades as the Bride of Christ, but which God names for what it truly is—the “great whore” of Revelation. Nothing angers God more than this blasphemous pretense, for it is a direct assault on the very identity and purity of Christ’s Church.
“Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters… And I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy… And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.”

The Blasphemy of the Papal System
For centuries, Protestants have recognized this system as Rome. The Reformers did not hesitate: they identified the papal office as the Antichrist foretold by John. In the Holy Roman Empire, the pope bore the title Pontifex Maximus—a direct claim to be the head and steward of the ancient mystery religions, now masquerading as the head of Christ’s Church. This is blasphemy of the highest order.
The papal system is “full of names of blasphemy.” Consider just a few of the titles claimed: Vicar of Christ, Holy Father, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Ruler of the World, Father of princes and kings. These are not empty words. They are doctrinal assertions that the pope possesses all authority in heaven and on earth as Christ’s unique representative. This is not a secondary error—it is an explicit usurpation of Christ’s headship, a collapse of the very foundation of justification and sonship. If a man can stand in Christ’s place, then the finished work is emptied of its power, and the inheritance of the saints is handed over to a human office.
Persecution: The Fruit of the Counterfeit
Scripture does not merely condemn this system for its blasphemous claims; it indicts her for her violence against the saints.

The rise of the first Jesuit pope is no accident. The Jesuit order was founded as the spearhead of the Counter-Reformation, with a singular mission: to bring the “separated brethren” (Protestants) back under Rome. The Jesuits were authorized to use any means, including deceit and infiltration, to achieve this. For centuries, they have worked to condition Protestant churches to accept Roman doctrine. Today, we are witnessing the fruit of this long campaign: leaders of major Protestant denominations openly call for unity with Rome, and the doctrines once cast off in the Reformation are being embraced anew.
The Ecumenical Movement: The Engine of Apostasy
This is not a benign call for Christian unity. It is a satanic agenda, orchestrated by those who masquerade as Protestants but are loyal to Rome. The ecumenical movement is the means by which Protestant denominations are being deceived and reconciled to the papal system. The truths for which the Reformers bled and died are being abandoned. The False Prophet, with horns like a lamb but the voice of a dragon, will perform miracles to deceive the world and direct worship to the Antichrist.

The Antichrist will present himself as the Christ, settling world crises and establishing a false peace. He will even enter the rebuilt temple and declare himself to be God.

The world will be swept up in this deception. All whose names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life will worship him. The False Prophet will ensure that those who refuse—true saints—are put to death.

The Call to Vigilance

“If any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. When the global ecumenical system crystallizes under the False Prophet, there will be no place for the witnesses of Jesus who keep the commandments of God. To accept the ecumenical reconciliation with Rome is to surrender the heart of the gospel. It is to trade the finished work of Christ for the blasphemous claims of men, to exchange the assurance of sonship for the bondage of religious tyranny, and to forfeit the inheritance of the saints for a counterfeit unity. This is not a secondary matter. The very distinction between covenantal promise and human performance is at stake. The conscience, once cleansed by the blood of Christ, is threatened with defilement by the doctrines of demons.
